The number of inmates incarcerated in Eureka County remained unchanged in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

In total, there were three inmates in the county at the time.

Steven Don Barrack, a 40-year-old, was the youngest inmate sentenced in Eureka County in the first quarter of 2025.

Robert Edwin Basham was the oldest at 63-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 610 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world — except for the United States.
