Enrollment at Eureka County School District decreased by 2.4% compared to previous school year

There were 325 students enrolled in Eureka County School District in the 2023-24 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 52% of them were boys, and 48% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 75.7% of the Eureka County School District's total enrollment.

Eureka County School District roughly covers three schools within Eureka Countyand has a main office in Eureka.

Among the three schools in the district, Eureka County High School recorded the highest enrollment of 165 students in the 2023-24 school year.

Enrollment in Nevada has experienced a notable decline, falling nearly 3.5% since the 2019-20 school year.

Although Nevada has seen some significant relief in chronic absenteeism since the pandemic, numbers are still high. In the 2023-24 school year, the state reported an improvement of roughly 10% in the number of chronically absent students. However, more than a quarter of students (25.9%) were chronically absent from classes. This mirrors a national trend, with estimates suggesting the number of chronically absent students in the U.S. has grown to over 16 million compared to pre-pandemic data.
