Lander County: How many students were enrolled in Battle Mountain Elementary School in 2023-24 school year?

Battle Mountain Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Lander County schools, welcoming 438 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Of all the students enrolled, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 59.4% of Battle Mountain Elementary School's total enrollment.

Among the four schools in Lander County, Eleanor Lemaire Junior High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 320 students, while Battle Mountain High School welcomed 308 students and ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Battle Mountain Elementary School is part of Lander County School District, which roughly covers schools within Lander County and has a main office in Battle Mountain.

In the previous school year, Battle Mountain Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Lander County schools.

Despite a significant drop in chronic absenteeism, Nevada’s numbers are still high. In the 2023-24 school year, the state reported that over a quarter of students were chronically absent from classes, above the 18.8% rate registered in the 2018-19 school year.
