Pershing County School District: How many students met or exceeded expectations in English CCR test in 2022-23 school year?

Of the 36 students who took part in the English portion of their College and Career Readiness Assessment (CCR) in Pershing County School District, 41.7% met the testing standard while 2.7% exceeded expectations, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

The number of students who succeeded in the test grew by 23.1% from the previous school year.

At the time, the proficiency level in the district was 44.4%, 1.5% less than the state's average of 45.9%.

There were 684 students enrolled in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% less than the year before.

Across the state, Nye County School District had the highest percentage growth in enrollment during the 2022-23 school year, increasing by 4.8% from 5,577 to 5,842 students. Meanwhile, Mineral County School District saw the smallest percentage growth, changing by 0.2%, increasing from 607 to 608 students.

Pershing County School District roughly covers schools within Pershing County and has a main office in Lovelock.

In Nevada, the ACT serves as the College and Career Readiness assessment for high school juniors, and it is used to evaluate if they are on track for higher education.

According to the Nation's Report Card data, there is a significant disparity in academic performance between minority students and their white peers in Nevada's schools. For example, in 2022, 8th-grade reading exams revealed that 46% of African American and 39% of Hispanic students failed, compared to 21% of white students. Similar trends were also seen in math and across different grade levels.
