Lander County: 8 inmates were incarcerated in Q3

In Lander County, eight inmates were incarcerated in the third quarter of 2024, unchanged from the quarter before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Cristian Alejandro Gonzales, a 26-year-old, was the youngest inmate sentenced in Lander County in the third quarter of 2024.

William O. Gibbons was the oldest at 73-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
