May: How many inmates were incarcerated in Humboldt County?

In Humboldt County, 38 inmates were incarcerated in May, a 3,700% increase over the month before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Gavin Paul Parry, a 21-year-old, was the youngest inmate incarcerated in Humboldt County in May.

Jorge Cordoba Velazquez was the oldest at 71-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
