Larry Rackley, incumbent member of the Pershing County Board of Commissioners, is seeking the Republican nomination for re-election to serve on Seat B for a four-year term. The primary election will be held on June 11.
Per a sample ballot, Rackley is running for re-election in the GOP primary against Connie Gottschalk.
Rackley has previously worked in grant-writing and has been able to gain grant money for Pershing County, including to the Pershing County Senior Center. According to a Facebook post, Rackley has been working on expanding and upgrading Derby Field, with FAA grant money.
Rackley also serves on the Central Nevada Health District Board, the Nevada Aviation Association Board, and the Pool Pact Board, plus several other Pershing County boards and departments. Rackley has reportedly never missed a Pershing County Board of Commissioners meeting.
According to the Nevada Legislature, the board of county commissioners' responsibilities include levying taxes, planning and zoning, controlling and managing public roads and bridges, and approving contracts and purchases by the county government.
