Pershing County: 16 inmates were incarcerated in Q1

In Pershing County, 16 inmates were incarcerated in the first quarter of 2024, a 14.3% increase over the quarter before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Jose Javier Figueroa, a 24-year-old, was the youngest inmate sentenced in Pershing County in the first quarter of 2024.

Timothy V Dale was the oldest at 69-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
