In Eureka County, three inmates were incarcerated in the first quarter of 2024, a 50% increase over the quarter before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Steven Don Barrack, a 39-year-old, was the youngest inmate sentenced in Eureka County in the first quarter of 2024.

Robert Edwin Basham was the oldest at 62-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.
