Lander County is home to 2 Hispanic or Latino inmates in January

Lander County had two Hispanic or Latino individuals incarcerated in January, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

This is the same amount as the month before.

Colby A. Becker, a 40-year-old white man and Kyle C. Ray, a 40-year-old non-Hispanic white man, were the youngest inmates in Lander County in January.

Overall, local jails in the county had seven people incarcerated as of January.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
