Pershing County: 26 inmates were incarcerated in Q2

In Pershing County, 26 inmates were incarcerated in the second quarter of 2023, an 8.3 percent increase over the quarter before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Jose Javier Figueroa, a 23-year-old, was the youngest inmate sentenced in Pershing County in the second quarter of 2023.

Timothy V Dale was the oldest at 68-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
