Lander County: Five inmates were incarcerated in April

In Lander County, five inmates were incarcerated in April, a 16.7 percent decrease from the month before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Colby A. Becker and Kyle C. Ray, 40-year-olds, were the youngest inmates incarcerated in Lander County in April.

William O. Gibbons was the oldest at 72-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
