April: How many inmates were incarcerated in Humboldt County?

In Humboldt County, 40 inmates were incarcerated in April, a 2.6 percent increase over the month before, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Tyler Wade Elvendahl-Pavao, a 19-year-old, was the youngest inmate incarcerated in Humboldt County in April.

Jorge Cordoba Velazquez was the oldest at 70-years-old.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada's local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 713 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world.
