Event Name: Healthy Teens - Grades 8-12

Description: The Family Resource Center is hosting a FREE Healthy Teens program for teens in 8th grade-12th grade (minimum age 13) for a one day Saturday session. Held at the FRC, 331 7th St. in Elko on Sat., January 28th from 9am-4pm. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Permission slips are required, signed by parent/guardian before class. For planning purposes, please pre-register: call 775-753-7352, text 775-397-1874, or email teenhealth@elkofrc.org.Participants get a FREE backpack filled with school supplies, or a $25 store gift card (if available in your area) for attending! All youth who attend a full session of a program from October 2022-September 2023 are eligible for a brand new college scholarship opportunity!

Details: The "Making Proud Choices" curriculum from ETR.org is a fun, evidence-based, age appropriate program, proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. This program incorporates medically accurate information along with crucial knowledge on how to identify and handle social pressures. Youth learn about reproductive health, hygiene, responsibility, healthy relationships, effective communication, personal safety, and build their knowledge and confidence. Want more info?
