At the Regular City Council Meeting of September 6th, the City Council made a selection in filling the open vacancy of the Council Seat formerly held by Jasie Holm, who was recently appointed as Mayor.
Of the three individuals who submitted letters of interest, John Hanson was selected to fill the vacancy and subsequently took his Oath of Office given by Judge Phillip Leamon.
When asked about being selected, Mr. Hanson said, I enjoyed serving a previous four-year term as a City Council Member and I take this appointment and position seriously and consider it a great honor to serve.” He further remarked, “I look forward to doing my very best and working with the other City Council Members and the Mayor in representing the interests of our community as the city continues its forward progress of growth.”
Mr. Hanson will serve out the remainder of the current term for the given council seat until a qualified successor has been selected in the coming November election; Mr. Hanson is one of several individuals who is running in the November election for City Council.
Congratulations Mr. Hanson and thank you for serving.
