Landfill and Weed District Changes Go into Effect

Ordinances 349 and 351, amending Chapter 13.06 of the Pershing County Code went into effect on July 1, 2022. These ordnances increase the base rate of Landfill Assessments from $10 per month to $12.00 per month in Lovelock and $13.00 per month in non-incorporated areas of Pershing County. In addition, base rate assessments may be calculated by applying a Residential Equivalency Multiplier, depending on the property's use. Details on which multipliers are applied to which uses are included in the Ordinance under Resolution 21-0607.

The deadline to appeal the Landfill Assessment Fees are due by September 30th, 2022. Appeals, if granted, are valid for one tax year. To file an appeal, please fill out the top section of the following form (Step 1) and return to the Pershing County Assessor's Office before September 30th, 2022.

In addition, updates to the Lovelock Valley Weed Control District have been approved, excluding Section 25, Township 25 North, Range 30 East
