Three West Wendover Police Officers Take Their Oath of Office

City of West Wendover recently issued the following announcement.

At the Regular City Council meeting of April 5, 2022, Judge Phillip C. Leamon conducted an oath of office ceremony for three officers of West Wendover’s Police Department.

Officers Joshua Althoff and Timothy Monell have both worked for the West Wendover Police Department since last year. Officer Althoff has previous law enforcement experience including as an officer for the City of Wendover, Utah Police Department. Officer Monell has previous law enforcement experience with the City of Carlin, Nevada Police Department. Both officers successfully completed their training requirements and are currently assigned to patrol.

Officer Kaydn Sharp was recently hired by West Wendover. He has previous law enforcement experience with the Tooele City, Utah Police Department. He has completed his training, is certified as a Nevada Peace Officer, and is currently assigned to patrol.

West Wendover Chief of Police Cal Kunz had the opportunity to attend the ceremony and said, “It’s fantastic to see these great officers officially become members of our Police Department. With their previous experience, we were able to quickly train them and get them assigned to patrol. They have all three hit the ground running and have already added to our community in many positive ways.”
