Reminder To Ensure Irrigation Systems Are Winterized

215

Churchill City recently issued the following announcement.

Over the last several days, the Churchill County Public Works, Planning & Zoning department has received numerous calls to report water leaks from residential properties. Most, if not all these leaks have been a result of freezing and rupture of the homes irrigation piping.

This notice is meant to inform homeowners that failure to properly winterize the residences irrigation system can result in costly water bills and expensive repair costs should a line break and remain undetected.

Churchill County strongly encourages all homeowners to properly winterize their irrigation system. It is equally important to disconnect any hoses from the exterior hose bibs as to not rupture the bib and cause a leak within the wall of the home.
