Special Election Information

County of Elko recently issued the following announcement.

A Special Election has been scheduled for December 14, 2021. The Special Election will contain one ballot question submitted by the Elko County School District and will be held at the Elko County Library, located at 720 Court Street, Elko, Nevada. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Election Day.

ALL ACTIVE REGISTERED VOTERS WILL BE MAILED A MAIL BALLOT.

To check your voting status, or to register to vote visit www.registertovotenv.gov.

The Clerk’s Office target date to mail out the first batch of official ballots is November 1, 2021. All active voters that are registered by November 27, 2021 can expect a ballot in the mail.

Anyone that registers after November 27, 2021, should plan to appear in-person at the designated polling location to vote through the Same-Day Registration process (must have a valid Nevada identification card or Nevada Driver’s License and proof of residency if the address on the identification is not current).

Completed mail ballots may either be mailed back in the envelope provided, hand-delivered to the Elko County Clerk’s Office at 550 Court St, 3rd Floor, Elko, Nevada, or dropped off during early voting or on Election Day at the Elko County Library.

Voters can expect to receive their sample ballot near the end of October.

EARLY VOTING will be held at the Elko County Library, 720 Court Street, Elko, Nevada.

Saturday, November 27 – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Monday, November 29 through Friday, December 3 – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Saturday, December 4 – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Monday, December 6 through Friday, December 10 – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
