Organizers announced on May 6 that the Annual Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on September 19 at the Fallon Golf Course, with registration now open for four-person teams and sponsorship opportunities available.

The event is a four-person scramble format, and teams are encouraged to sign up soon. Sponsorships and donations are also being accepted. For questions about the tournament, participants may contact Alexa Robinson at (775)350-1622.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The entry fee covers 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, contests, and snacks. Prizes will be awarded for team scores as well as individual achievements such as longest drive and closest to the hole.

Online registration and payment are due by September 3. Paper registrations and entry fees can also be submitted in person to Alexa Robinson in the County Manager’s Office at 155 N. Taylor Street, Suite 194 in Fallon during weekday business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Checks should be made payable to “Churchill County Golf.”

The annual tournament honors former County Commissioner Jim Regan and serves as a fundraiser for the Jim Regan Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund provides academic scholarships for children of general county employees, with proceeds from this year’s event going toward scholarships that will be awarded in spring of next year.
