Enrollment at Elko County School District increased by 2.2% compared to previous school year

There were 10,161 students enrolled in Elko County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.2% more than the previous year, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 55.6% of the Elko County School District’s total enrollment.

Elko County School District roughly covers 32 schools within Elko County and has a main office in Elko.

Among the 32 schools in Elko County School District, Elko High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,424 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Enrollment in Nevada has experienced a notable decline, falling nearly 2% over the last four years.

Meanwhile, Nevada has roughly one teacher for every 22 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for every 15 students.
