Humboldt County had 10 Hispanic or Latino individuals incarcerated in August, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

This is an increase of 11.1% over the month before, when there were nine Hispanic or Latino individuals incarcerated.

Dean Davis, a 20-year-old non-Hispanic white man, was the youngest inmate in Humboldt County in August.

Overall, local jails in the county had 55 people incarcerated as of August.

Every year, at least 38,000 people are booked into Nevada’s local jails.

Nevada has an incarceration rate of 610 per 100,000 people, which means it incarcerates a higher percentage of its population than any other democracy in the world — except for the United States.
