Lander County reported 489 girls enrolled in its schools in 2021-22 school year

Of the 1,030 students in Lander County schools, 47.5% (489) were girls, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

Analyzing school data showed the number of girls enrolled in Lander County schools grew by 0.2% from the previous year.

Countywide, Battle Mountain Elementary School had the lowest percentage of female students (43.8%), while the highest percentage was recorded at Austin Combined Schools (61.5%).

Nevada had 486,682 students in 763 schools across 18 districts in 2022, with 27,123 public school teachers.

Nevada has roughly one teacher for every 20 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A higher student-to-teacher ratio has been found to negatively impact students' school performance.
